The store at Gibside Way has one of the largest numbers of long serving colleagues in the country with 15 colleagues celebrating 30 years of service.
Amongst the long serving colleagues is Pat Cockburn, who met her partner, Rob, whilst working at the store.
Pat, checkout operator at Asda Gateshead, said: “I owe so much to Asda as I would never have met my husband and had my son had I not worked at Asda.
“I can’t believe how quickly the last 30 years have flown by and it’s really nice to see that we’re all one big Asda family and such a big part of the local community.”
Shaun Parker, general store manager at Asda Gateshead said: “We are proud of all our colleagues at Asda Gateshead and we are especially proud of our dedicated group of 15 for all their hard work over the years.
“What better way to celebrate the 450 years of service our long serving colleagues have given us than with a good old party to thank them for their service.”
