Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2015-10-20 at 14.07.25A North East beachside bistro is showcasing the finest flavours from the land and sea as part of a special event taking place next week.

The Beach House, Roker, which specialises in fine food for all the family, will be hosting its first Surf and Turf Night on Friday October 30 – with a second due to follow on November 27.

Chefs at the site, owned and operated by 1879 Events Management, have compiled a unique menu for the occasion, beginning with a salad of crab, prawns and salt and pepper squid.

This will be followed by a main course sharing platter, featuring minute steak with chimichurri sauce, piri piri chicken fillets, spicy chorizo sausage and a mixed garden salad.

The platter, designed for two people, will also include crab claws, king prawns and mussels with garlic and spring onions, as well as patatas bravas or spicy potato wedges.

David Moses, General Manager at 1879 Events Management, which also manages catering and events at the Stadium of Light and National Glass Centre, said: “There are so many fresh ingredients available here in the North East, both from the land and from the sea that The Beach House overlooks.

“This event is designed to showcase how surf and turf can be brought together and complement each other in mouthwatering style.”

Surf and Turf at The Beach House is priced at £30 per couple, including two courses with mixed bread and olives available on arrival. A selection of desserts will be available to purchase at an additional cost.
