A BREAKFAST briefing aimed at helping entrepreneurs under the age of 40 improve their businesses is being held in October.

David Cook, founder and Managing Partner of wealth management company Northern Spire, has arranged the free event – at the Ramside Hall Hotel and Spa on Friday, October 10 from 8.30am to 10.30am.

David said: “This is the latest in our series of workshops and briefings aimed at supporting and promoting the local business community. We’ve previously held briefings for young entrepreneurs which have proved very popular, and tickets for this event are going fast.”

The briefing will include a Question Time panel focusing on the topic of ‘maximising your business value.’

David added: “We have a fantastic panel of five entrepreneurs who have a proven history of starting and growing their own companies. Our panellists will offer their expertise, strategies and practical tips and there will be a Q&A session, giving audience members the chance to engage directly with the experts and ask any questions they might have.”

The panel includes: Hasan Hamid, founder and director of Burger Drop; Jordan Groody, founder and director of Haus of Finance; James Moon, founder and President of AerMoon Group; Tomas Roberton, co-founder and Technical Director at Circle Cloud, and Jess Fenwick, Senior Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial at Sweeney Miller law firm.

Aviation entrepreneur James Moon, 31, is looking forward to being a panellist: “I’m excited to be part of the panel and although I’ve done a few similar events in the world of aviation, this will be my first for a young, more general audience.

“I’ll be talking about how to make your passion or hobby into a business and the importance of finding a good mentor when you’re young and setting up a company. I was fortunate enough to have a great mentor when I established my businesses and he instilled good business practice into me, and challenged me in the right way.

“I’ll also be speaking about the importance of resilience – any business has good days and bad days and you have to learn how to weather the tough days.”

James’s company AerMoon is based near Alnwick and provides commercial aircraft trading and leasing, and management solutions to airlines and investors around the world. Between 70 per cent and 80 per cent of his business is done outside of the UK – mainly in the US and Middle East.

He added: “I was delighted when David Cook invited me to the event, it looks like a great event to speak at and he’s assembled a great panel with lots of experience in different areas. He doesn’t have to take the time and trouble to organise and host such events, but genuinely wants to give something back.”

David said: “This is our latest business owner network briefing – and part of our continued efforts to bring value to the regional business community.”
