Calm Expands To Manage Expanding Team

Calm, the Teesside based company that specialises in delivering software and web service to client’s worldwide has expanded the team with a project manager.

Lina Grant has secured the new role within the 17 strong team, with a huge part of her focus being to manage the scheduling for the growing team of developers and designers.

From Ingleby Barwick , the married 31 year old brings with her experience from roles within global radio, a good grounding in media and an vast understanding of agency culture in the creative and digital industries.

Returning to work following maternity leave, Lina wanted to work closer to home and was aware of the growing reputation and exciting client base Calm were cementing. She said:

“The brands Calm work with are really exciting and the software and web services they offer are innovative, yet proven. The team is truly the best in each of their specialisms and since joining, I am constantly blown away by both their dedication and their knowledge.”

Lina, who studied multimedia journalism at Teesside, has also been briefed by Calm director Danielle Bloom to focus on client management, ensuring that the customer service given by the whole team is top notch. Danielle said:

“Lina’s job with us is varied and fast paced, but ultimately it is her responsibility to make sure our team deliver on time, quality results and within budget, to deadline. It is not an easy job, but Lina’s previous experience and her enthusiasm means we are confident she will thrive in the role.”

Having just celebrated the company’s 10th anniversary, Calm is based in Boho One in Middlesbrough. The company works with clients and large scale brands across the UK, Europe and USA, and has recently expanded their office to accommodate the planned growth for the coming anniversary year. It is intended that another five jobs will be created.

As well as business software systems, websites and mobile apps, the company specialises in platforms including eLearning, API integrations and SaaS development. The company owns Advent Calendar Online, which delivers marketing campaigns and engagement in the retail, hospitality and leisure industries with clients including Lindt and Holiday Pirates.

Calm also owns Intasite, an online health and safety induction platform for contractors and visitors to hazardous and secure conscious sites, which boasts a host of impressive clients including EDF Renewables, Telefonica O2, PD Ports and Sirius Minerals PLC.

Lina, whose husbands writes films and screen plays, concluded:

“Standards are high, quality is paramount, and the clients are serious players. The office has a very professional and upbeat vibe. It’s just the perfect place to work for me to feel energised and deliver to my best ability. I do know some of the team from previous roles, so rather than feeling like the new person, I feel like I have come into the role hitting the ground with my feet running!”
