MIDDLESBROUGH residents are being advised their bin collections will take place one day late during Christmas week.
Christmas Day 2017 falls on a Monday when no bins are collected in the town.
This means that those residents who have their bins collected on a Tuesday will have them collected a day later on Wednesday, December 27 owing to the Boxing Day bank holiday.
The knock-on effect will continue throughout the week with collections finishing on Saturday, December 30.
As New Year’s Day also falls on a Monday the collections will be back to normal that week.
Normal Collection Day | Revised Collection Day |
Tuesday 26th December 2017 | Wednesday 27th December 2017 |
Wednesday 27th December 2017 | Thursday 28th December 2017 |
Thursday 28th December 2017 | Friday 29th December 2017 |
Friday 29th December 2017 | Saturday 30th December 2017 |
Excess recycling can also be placed out for collection in clear plastic bags next to the blue-lidded recycling bin.
Christmas trees will also be collected for one week only from Tuesday, January 9 to Friday, January 12.
- If residents require clear plastic bags for excess recycling they should contact the Council via the website www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/recycling, email: customerservicecentre@middlesbrough.gov.uk or by telephone, 01642 726001.
