One of the UK’s leading independent risk management consultancies – Newcastle-based Corporate Risk Associates (CRA) – has been shortlisted as Risk Management Team of the Year, at this year’s CIR Risk Management Awards.

Now in its seventh year, the Risk Management Awards was established to recognise individuals, organisations and teams that have significantly added to the understanding and practice of risk management.

Speaking about being shortlisted for the award, Jasbir Sidhu, Chief Executive Officer at CRA said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award and for CRA to be recognised for making outstanding contributions in risk management.

“We have a brilliant team at CRA with unrivalled knowledge and expertise. When setting up the company in 2000, the aim was to deliver an innovative and forward thinking approach to risk management – and we have done exactly that. Not only is CRA a fast growing and progressive company, we are also recognised as leaders in our field.”

The winners will be announced at the gala dinner and awards ceremony on 10 th November at the Millennium Hotel in Mayfair, London. Last year’s event was attended by over 250 guests and it is anticipated that this year’s attendance will be even bigger as the event celebrates the successes in the risk management industry.

CRA has recently announced a series of major contract wins, including a contract with a global banking and financial company, to undertake a Human Factors analysis approach in order to improve human reliability in banking infrastructure support tasks. The contract came on the back of CRA working on a number of highly detailed human factor projects including Future Submarine and AJAX (C2 Variant).

The company faces tough competition to be crowned winners of Risk Management Team of the Year, coming head to head with the likes of major players Scottish Water, Argo Group and Network Rail Infrastructure.

Jasbir said: “The standard of companies that have been shortlisted this year is extremely high and we believe it is a great accolade in itself to have come this far. Risk management can be extremely complex and our aim as a team is to continue to make outstanding contributions to shape and enhance the industry.”

CRA is an expert in providing risk analysis to safety-critical industries and has offices across the UK.
