FORGET ‘legs eleven’, ‘top of the shop’ and ‘two fat ladies’ as The Botanist is shaking up the classic game of bingo this September with a musical twist.

The launch of Musical Bingo will see songs replace numbers played live by one of the bar’s familiar local musicians, with prizes up for grabs including meals for two and bottles of Prosecco.

Taking place on Sunday 24 September from 7pm until 9pm in the main bar, there’ll be three games throughout the evening, which will see Jennifer Stevens take to the piano to play and sing a mix of songs to test game players’ musical knowledge.

Think pub quiz music round meets bingo, as participants will have to listen carefully to try and recognise the songs, then mark it off their Musical Bingo card.

To warm up before the toe tapping and singalong begins, teams are invited to arrive early and tuck into The Botanist’s new Sunday Lunch menu, including a seasonal selection of hearty dishes timed perfectly for the recent change in temperature.

The new additions include Rotisserie Roasted Ridings Reserve Premium English Beef served with homemade horseradish cream, Red Tractor Assured Rotisserie Chicken seasoned with piri-piri sea salt and Rotisserie Roasted Lamb served with home-grown mint sauce.

Entry to Musical Bingo is free and table reservations can be made now by calling 0191 261 6307 or emailing newcastlebookings@thebotanist.uk.com.
