Disability Open Day at Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club

Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club will host a Disability Open Day on Sunday 5th February to highlight the inclusive nature of Table Tennis and how anyone really can play the sport.

Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club is Table Tennis England “Ability” club which means the club coaches have done disability training and the club is wheelchair friendly and has suitable equipment for wheelchairs and other disability’s. 

The club has several National ranked players in the disability rankings, “we want to show truly how inclusive the sport of Table Tennis is”, said Matthew Porter Club Chairman. “part of the club’s aim is to provide table tennis for everyone in the community and break down barriers of community cohesion, we believe that table tennis is for everyone and days like this we can show how sport can bring people together and help improve people aspirations and self-esteem”

The day will see lots of fun games and activities for people to try as well as Polly bat,  there will be free tables for open play and everyone is welcome, Learning or Physical disabilities and carers are welcome too.
