Screen Shot 2016-03-21 at 10.25.49Football fans can be among the first to benefit from the North East’s newest hotel, as doors open for the last games of the 2015/2016 season.

The Hilton Garden Inn Sunderland, which is currently under construction adjacent to the city’s Stadium of Light, will launch ahead of the Black Cats final home games against Chelsea (3pm, May 7) and Everton (7.45pm, May 11).

Bookings are now being taken from supporters of all three clubs who wish to extend their matchday experience with an overnight stay in one of the new hotel’s 141 en-suite bedrooms.

Each room comes equipped with an in-room mini fridge, individually controlled air conditioning, flat screen TV, access to complimentary WiFi and the Hilton Garden Inn brand’s signature bedding with fresh, white duvets and crisp linens.

“We’re thrilled that the hotel will be open for SAFC’s last two home games of the 2015/2016 season,” said Kim Kelso, Hilton Garden Inn Sunderland’s General Manager.

“This is perfect timing for fans of SAFC and Chelsea who want to make more of their matchday experience, as well as those Everton supporters who might find it more convenient to spend the night after an evening kick off.

“It also means that fans from all three clubs will be among the first to enjoy everything the new Hilton Garden Inn has to offer.”

Reservations are now being taken for overnight accommodation at the Hilton Garden Inn on May 7 (Chelsea) and May 11 (Everton).

Bookings can be made by emailing enquiries@hgisunderland.com and more information can be found at www.hgisunderland.hgi.com or www.safc.com/hotel

To celebrate the launch of the hotel, SAFC are also offering a new, limited availability matchday package.

This includes a champagne and canapes reception, pre-match Q&A and meet and greet with former SAFC players and a three course, pan-American gourmet grill buffet served in the Hilton Garden Inn’s destination restaurant two hours before kick-off.

The new package also includes prime, centre line seats in the West Stand for the match, half time bar access in the Stadium of Light, complimentary parking and full-time refreshments served back at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Anyone interested is being asked to contact their existing Account Manager at the Stadium of Light or email hospitality@safc.com.

Full details of the packages available for the 2016/2017 season will be released in due course.
