County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Officer, Claire MaddisonJobseekers can learn how to make their application forms and letters stand out from the crowd at two upcoming free courses organised by County Durham Housing Group.

A training session on writing application forms will be held on Wednesday, 15 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Gully House, Wingate.

And a separate session looking at writing letters to gain employment will be held on Thursday, 16 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Woodhouse Close Children’s Centre.

County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Officer, Claire Maddison, said: “In an increasingly competitive job market it’s important for jobseekers to ensure that anything that they submit to a prospective employer sells them well.

“Our free informal workshop provides jobseekers with expert advice about what to put on their application forms or letters and – just as importantly – the pitfalls to avoid.

“Anyone wanting further information, or to book their free place at our workshop, should email employability@cdhg.co.uk or call us on 0191 349 7657.”

County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Team provides support to tenants of Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes to find a job, access training, gain apprenticeships and venture into self-employment.

Details of future workshops across the county can be found at http://www.countydurhamhousinggroup.co.uk/events-calendar
