The group, which is made up of local landlords Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes, is hosting an ‘Employability Workshop’ that will offer advice on how and where to look for work, developing effective CVs, and writing covering letters.

The free session, on Monday, 25 January between 10am and 4pm at Mickle Grove Community Hub in Bishop Auckland, is one of many planned workshops across the county in the coming months that will help people either secure new employment or take their career in a new direction.

Claire Maddison, Employment and Skills Officer at County Durham Housing Group, said: “Taking the necessary steps to get back into work can be daunting, but with the right advice and support real opportunities can be seized.

“Our workshops will develop attendees’ skills so whether it’s completing an application form, attending an interview or starting a new job, they are 100% confident in their own capabilities.”

Lunch will be provided and help to attend the course, such as travel expenses, can be arranged.
