A Newcastle-based Geo-environmental consultancy has won a series of new contracts across the South of England.
Roberts Environmental, which provides development advice and site investigation services on behalf of UK property owners, says the raft of new instructions follows the launch of its London office last August.
The firm has won work to undertake ground investigations at brownfield sites in Bristol & Reading on behalf of Anchor Care Homes to determine ground conditions prior to development.
It is also undertaking ground investigations at two Asda sites in Leighton & Beckton on behalf of construction company, HB Projects, to facilitate expansion of the existing premises. As well as a further two instructions on care home sites in Hatfield & Chigwell.
Jeff Roberts, managing director of Roberts Environmental said: “We are delighted to have been awarded these new contracts, which were won following competitive tenders. Our ground investigations enable property owners and developers to make informed decisions on the contamination status of a site, as well as advising on foundation design by testing soils.
“There are a number of key sectors where we are currently experiencing strong demand for our services including the residential and care home sectors as well as food retail, where supermarkets are looking to develop new sites or expand existing premises for click and collect facilities or chiller units.”
Mike Hay, director at Roberts Environmental added: “Having a presence in London has helped us to secure a number of new projects in the South over the past few months and we look forward to growing our client base nationally as well as continuing to work with our North East-based clients.”
Closer to home Roberts Environmental recently undertook pre-acquisition environmental due diligence for an unnamed client of a £42m North East industrial portfolio prior to its sale by UK Land Estates.
In October 2017 the firm announced its expansion with the recruitment of 3 new members of staff taking the team to 8 in total.
