Hambleton Boccia Club has claimed two places in the sport’s national finals against the best players in the UK

Hambleton Boccia Club has claimed two places in the sport’s national finals later this month.

Joe Mckechnie and Chloe George will represent the district as they play against the best Boccia players in the UK in London on April 21.

Joe took his place at the Boccia England Heathcoat Cup in Gateshead last month – a competition for all impairment groups where players compete in a friendly environment with the chance to qualify for a place in the London finals.

Joe won his final on a tie breaker while Chloe gained her qualification through qualifiers in Sheffield.

Joe who is also Hambleton District Council’s Inclusive Sports Officer said: “All of our players did remarkably well and for some it was their first competitive match.

“These regional competitions are great for those starting off or wanting to further their competition experience.”
