Five Hambleton businesses are in the running for the annual White Rose Awards – which celebrate the very best of tourism in Yorkshire.
More than 100 finalists have been selected for judging in the UK’s largest celebration of tourism – they cover 17 categories from best Yorkshire pub to outstanding customer service.
The Hambleton businesses are: Kunsthuis Gallery, Crayke (arts and culture category); The Camp Hill Estate, Kirklington (business tourism category); Dalesend Cottages, Patrick Brompton, Bedale (self catering category); The World of James Herriot, Thirsk (small visitor attraction category); and High Parks Tearoom, Newton le Willows, Bedale (taste of Yorkshire category).
Leader of Hambleton District Council, Councillor Mark Robson, commented: “Hambleton has a wonderful and diverse tourism sector and to have five businesses shortlisted in these prestigious awards is a great achievement. They should be very proud to have been selected against very strong competition.”
