ARE you aged 40-74 and want to know whether you are at risk of a heart attack or stroke?
Residents of Pallister Park are invited to attend healthy heart checks being run in their community on dates throughout June and July.
Cardiovascular disease and coronary heart disease mortality have declined significantly over the past decade at national, regional and local level.
However, Public Health England estimates there remains a high proportion of people locally with undiagnosed diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart and kidney disease.
The Healthy Heart Check initiative targets the top seven causes of premature mortality, which are high blood pressure, smoking, cholesterol, obesity, poor diet, physical inactivity and alcohol consumption.
The checks are free and simple and the sessions will be held at Bellamy Court and the Middlebeck Social Club in Pallister Park.
