Home Group named best social landlord

Home Group, one of the UK’s largest housing associations, has been named social Landlord of the Year.

The major provider of high-quality housing, integrated health and social care, picked up the accolade at this year’s RESI awards, recognising the top performing organisations and individuals in the property sector.

Judged by over 30 senior industry leaders, the Landlord of the Year award is open to all landlords with registered social-owned properties, including affordable rent, shared ownership and homes for elderly and vulnerable residents.

Home Group was singled out for its forward-thinking approach to social housing, including increased construction output and innovative initiatives, such as building and testing modular homes and introducing flexible renting models.

Mark Henderson, Chief Executive of Home Group, said: “This is such a fantastic accolade for us given our focus on creating high-quality social and affordable homes.

“Everything we do at Home Group is centred around our support for our customers and, with such a large proportion living in our social homes, this award is all the more special.

“We are on a mission to build homes, independence and aspirations, and this type of award tells us we are heading in the right direction.”

Organised by Property Week, the awards have been running since 2012 with this year’s event receiving a record number of entries. Other areas recognised on the night include the best development, deal and newcomer in the industry.

The award is the second major accolade Home Group has won this week, following success at the UK National Contact Centre Awards.

Laura Welch, Digital Delivery Performance Leader at Home Group, claimed Customer Experience Manager of the Year, with other winners on the night including HSBC, Lloyds Bank, Virgin Media and BT.

Now in their 24th year, the National Contact Centre Awards recognise the individuals and teams who are role models, working to make their contact centres industry leading.
