PANCAKES were flying at a Teesside care home as residents were joined by nursery children for Pancake Day.
The intergenerational activity took place at Ingleby Care Home, Lamb Lane, Ingleby Barwick.
Both the elderly residents and youngsters from Busy Bees Nursery, on Myton Road, Thornaby, had a go at tossing pancakes.
They also topped them with an assortment of tasty additions, including chocolate, syrup, strawberries, bananas and sauces such as chocolate, strawberry and toffee.
Resident Margaret Salmon, 93, said: “I really enjoyed today. I get really excited when the children are coming in. It brightens up my day.”
Fellow resident Joyce Muir, 83, said: “That was brilliant. They are so lovely. They have lovely manners about them. I enjoyed eating mine as well as decorating them.”
Carol Singleton, home manager at Ingleby Care Home, said: “The residents enjoyed themselves. We all had a good giggle when we were flipping the pancakes and also enjoyed decorating them.
“We’d like to thank the nursery for bringing the children in to see the residents. We always enjoy their visits and look forward to the next.”
