Leading businesses are on the look-out for fresh talent in Middlesbrough – and they’ll have hundreds of jobs up for grabs at a recruitment event next month.
The latest Job Fair takes place at Middlesbrough College on Wednesday, July 13, featuring positions the hospitality, customer service, finance, health and social care and manufacturing sectors
Organisations offering new career opportunities include the new Holiday Inn Express, Hitachi, Marstons, the NHS and Barclays.
The National Careers Service, Middlesbrough Community Learning and the Department of Work and Pensions will be on hand to provide support and guidance in completing applications and looking for work.
The Fair – organised by Middlesbrough Council – will also see the launch of the Tees Valley Routeways and Tees Valley Pathways project in Middlesbrough which forms part of the Youth Employment Initiative*.
This a consortium of 28 partners (including the five Local Authorities across Tees Valley and led by Hartlepool Borough Council) which will help young people aged 15 to 29 to move into employment and learning using different and innovative methods.
Middlesbrough Mayor Dave Budd, who will officially open the Job Fair, said: “Middlesbrough is well established as the economic heart of the Tees Valley City Region, and that’s increasingly reflected in the range and quality of businesses choosing to invest here.
“They’ve seen the town’s potential as a key leisure and business destination and they’re bringing the jobs and career opportunities that will underpin a prosperous future.
“The latest Job Fair is a great opportunity to find out more about the companies and the roles they’re looking to fill – I hope as many people as possible come along.”
The Job Fair takes place at Middlesbrough College Wednesday, July 13 from 10am – 3 pm. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. Café areas are available on site for refreshments.
