A law firm has teamed up with a North East club in its first rugby partnership.

BHP Law, which is a keen supporter of local sport, has signed a sponsorship and business partnership with Mowden Park RFC.

The firm’s branding is now on the players’ new season home and away kit and on pitchside hoardings at The Northern Echo Arena, in Darlington.

Solicitors from the practice, which has offices in Darlington, Stockton, Durham and Newcastle, are also providing exprt legal advice to the club.

BHP Law’s managing partner John Pratt said: “Mowden Park have been promoted twice in the last four years and have ambitious plans for the future, so we are delighted to have this association and to be getting behind them.

“Our clients and staff love the facility and the opportunity to come and support the club. We have sponsored football in the past and are keen to support our local sporting clubs when we can.”

Robert Logam, from Mowden Park, added: “It’s a great boost to us to be attracting well-known regional brands who want to be associated with us and play their part in the club’s future.”

Mowden Park is in National League Division One with competition including Blaydon, Hull and Moseley.

The club attracts around 1,000 fans to home games at the arena, which is the biggest rugby union ground in England outside the national stadium at Twickenham.
