Primula Cheese has donated £52,000 to the NSPCC after the huge success of their special edition charity tubes.

The money will help the NSPCC in its invaluable work safeguarding young people from abuse and neglect and helping victims recover from their experiences.

Primula Cheese gave 20 percent of the profits from the limited edition, NSPCC branded tubes, which went on sale in mid-February, to the children’s charity. This is in addition to the money already given to charities through the company’s owners, the Kavli Trust.

Paul Lewney, Managing Director of Kavli UK which produces Primula Cheese, said: “Charity is very much at the heart of Primula’s work and we are delighted to make this donation to the NSPCC. I want to personally thank the British public who really got behind the campaign, by buying and enjoying Primula Cheese you have aided the NSPCC to continue to help children be children, free from abuse.

Philanthropy is in our company DNA and really is our reason for being, we are owned by the Kavli Trust, which means we continually donate to charities throughout the year. So every time you squeeze you are helping to do good.”

Claire Hoyle, NSPCC Head of Partnerships said, “We want to say a big thank you to the team at Primula Cheese for their donation. Every child is born with hopes for the future but if their head is full of fear anxiety or loneliness these thoughts can get shunted to one side.

“Childhood should be a time when we’re free to dream big. Abuse can destroy that, which is why we are so thankful for the support of Primula Cheese in helping us towards our goal of keeping five million more children safe by 2021.”

Primula is wholly owned by the Kavli Trust, a charitable organisation, which means every time a customer buys Primula cheese they are helping to support good causes in the UK and around the world.

The limited-edition packaging design featured both the Primula and NSPCC logos, with the NSPCC’s trademark green branding used as a background colour, alongside the existing individual colours used to denote each Primula flavour (Original, Cheese with Chives, Cheese with Ham, Light Cheese and Cheese with Prawns).
