Screen Shot 2015-04-27 at 15.35.01A North East radio station is bringing local talent back to the region as part of a series of intimate performances.

Northern musician, Antonio Lulic has returned to his North East roots to play at Star Radio’s ‘Up Close and Personal’ event in Darlington next week.

The talented singer-songwriter, who has gained success supporting Ed Sheeran on his recent sold- out South American tour, is looking forward to performing at The Keys on Tuesday 5th May, 7pm.

Antonio, who has a deep gravelled vocal and uniquely soulful voice, said: “I’m so excited to be back in the North East where it all began. Star radio has been great and I really appreciate all of their support.”

The 32 year old is originally from Great Lumley, Chester-le-Street and signed to Futureproof Records. With support like Star Radio’s and the local community’s, he hopes to be a world-wide known musician.

Star’s managing director, John Clayton said: “Antonio is a real talent, we’ve been supporting him for some time now and we’re so pleased to be holding this event with him. As the only local radio station in the area, we feel it’s our duty to showcase regional artists.

“We’re happy to say the event has already had a lot of interest and we’re just so excited for it. It’s going to be a great evening!”

Throughout 2015 ‘Up Close and Personal’ aims to bring top artists to the region for intimate gig experiences, with a capacity of roughly150 people at each event.

Star listeners will be given the opportunity to win VIP tickets to the gig, which will include drinks and nibbles, and the chance to meet Antonio himself.
