A LEADING County Durham spa continues to be one of the most luxurious in the country after retaining its 5 Bubble rating by the Good Spa Guide today (October 17).

The Spa at Ramside, located at Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa, remains among the North East’s leading relaxation spots after impressing in a recent review.

The guide is renowned as one of the top authorities in the country, and only recognises and rewards those spas which meet its strict criteria following a review visit.

The spa was praised for its ‘light and airy design, range of experiences, enthusiastic staff, excellent treatments and delicious food,’ by the guide’s reviewer, who was also impressed by its ‘good-value spa days and stays with something to tempt almost everyone.’

Judges were also impressed by the number of experiences on offer, including its gym facilities and pools along with its attentive spa butlers who are on hand to help guests during their visit and its modern spa bedrooms.

The £8m spa opened its doors in 2015 and received its first 5 Bubble rating just a few months later, retaining it every year since.

“This really is fantastic news and testament to the hard work of our dedicated team,” said spa director Joanne Green. “Since we opened three years ago, we have continued to offer the best service and treatments in our beautiful spa.

“We have won numerous awards over the last few years and to continue to receive a high rating from an organisation as important as the Good Spa Guide proves we are getting it right.

“Our spa is dedicated to giving clients the finest experience in the most beautiful of locations, and we are delighted to have once again been recognised for all of our hard work.”

The multi award-winning spa offers unrivalled facilities with five pools – including a 25-metre swimming pool – bubble pool, hydrotherapy pool, outside vitality pool and an infinity pool.

Other facilities include a tepidarium, Himalayan salt steam, aroma steam, drench showers and herbal and sunken amphitheatre saunas along with mud Rasul chambers.

Its 14 luxurious treatment rooms offer a number of indulgent, relaxing and therapeutic rituals using ESPA products, and the spa was first in the region to become Wellness for Cancer accredited.
