‘Money Matters’ is a new publication that will help customers to get to grips with their finances and realise that with the right advice and support, managing the purse-strings doesn’t have to be a chore.
The first edition of the 28-page guide includes information around the government’s welfare reform plans and introduction of Universal Credit, as well as signposts to additional support services that could really make a difference to someone’s circumstances.
Copies of the magazine will be posted to around 18,500 homes, collectively owned and managed by Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes, together with customers’ rent statement this month.
Liz Bradley, Neighbourhoods Team Leader at Dale & Valley Homes, said: “We want to help people start 2016 on the right foot, and if they are struggling with their finances not to suffer in silence.”
Durham City Homes’ Estates and Tenancy Manager, Carol Crathorne, echoed this view: “For those tenants who have money worries and want some help, the magazine provides useful information and contact details for a number of support services available from their landlord and other partner organisations.”
Julie Dower, East Durham Homes’ Tenancy Support Manager, concluded: “And other readers can also pick up some tips for around the home that could really help the pennies and pounds to stack up.”
