Fast-growing heating and plumbing merchant, Flame Heating Group, is celebrating national success after being recognised by one of the UK’s leading business organisations.

North East-based Flame was named Scale-Up Business of the Year by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) at its national Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019.

This latest success follows Flame winning the North East FSB Scale-Up Business of the Year award in March.

The FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards recognise the best small businesses and the self-employed from across the UK, from every sector and industry and from businesses of all ages and all sizes.

Since Flame was established, in 2011, it has achieved year-on-year, double-digit growth, and employs in excess of 60 staff.

Flame currently operates 12 trade counters across the UK and is expecting to invest further in its branch network, as well as double its headcount over the next three years.

Since 2018, Flame has opened three trade counters in Scotland and expanded into the North West with the opening of a branch in Carlisle, as well as, most recently, launched two bathroom showrooms – in Cramlington and Sunderland.

John Savage, Managing Director of Flame Heating Group, said: “We are committed to investing in our branch network and expanding throughout the UK, and for our success to be recognised by the FSB is a fantastic achievement.

“I am proud and delighted with this latest award win, which is testament to the hard work and dedication of our team who have helped to deliver our continuous growth and expansion. We have ambitious plans to increase our branch network further, while investing in offering new services and products to customers, which includes launching more bathroom showrooms.”

Mr Savage added: “It is an exciting time for everyone associated with Flame and I am expecting this period of positivity to continue.”
