Expanding motor business, Motor Depot, has launched its seventh national showroom on the Vroom Car Retail Park.

The move has made the company the largest trader within Vroom, based in North Tyneside, displaying approximately 150 cars and a service centre.

Work is also under way on developing a new, purpose-built, 10,000 square foot service and car preparation centre, which will open alongside extra retail space to enable it to display more than 400 cars by the end of the year.

Managing director Stephen Butterley said: “In our first few weeks of operations it is clear that prospective customers are really at ease with the relaxed atmosphere in our showroom.

“The team on site have undergone extensive training and have fully bought in to the Motor Depot ethos of treating customers fairly. The feedback so far confirms to us we’re on the right track and we’re confident we’ll build a successful operation in the North East.”

The retail park was purchased and regenerated in a multi-million pound development project by regional investment company Northumberland Estates. Vroom is based on the Tyne Tunnel Industrial Estate, opposite the Silverlink Retail Park, and at the intersection of the A19 and A1058 Coast Road.

To add to Vroom’s success, over £100,000 was recently invested by Northumberland Estates in advertising campaigns, including print and broadcast, to market the retail park to consumers across the region. The site is currently one of the most prominent in the region, displaying over 800 cars across several dealerships.

The site is managed and marketed by Bradley Hall. Laura Walker, estate management surveyor for the property firm, said: “Motor Depot is a fantastic addition to the Vroom Car Retail Park. I am sure the business will thrive at the site, which is now well known throughout the region thanks to the investment and development made by Northumberland Estates.

“The site has proven very popular as it offers flexible business space, and there is also an opportunity to build bespoke and self-contained dealerships on the adjoining site.”

The company joins Cartec, WD Motors, Whitley Bay Motors and Motorcare on the site. Vroom is managed by leading North East independent chartered surveying firm Bradley Hall.

The last two units are available on the site, which includes a 4,200 square foot showroom, a 5,400 square foot PDI and servicing unit, 108 external car sales spaces and 14 car parking spaces. For further details or to arrange a viewing please contact Bradley Hall on 0191 232 8080.
