New Look Building Breaths Life into Middlesbrough Street

Screen Shot 2015-12-02 at 15.36.13INNOVATIVE commercial space renovated in Middlesbrough town centre by property developers Jomast has brought business to the area and current tenants are expanding.

The polished exterior of the newly revamped Sun Alliance House building on Albert Road has had over £500,000 invested in it over the last twelve months as the first part of Jomast’s programme of regeneration on the street.

The property built in 1960’s has been given a dramatic facelift, with new double-glazed windows throughout, glossy external cladding and a full re-roof, giving it a smart finish and a more environmentally sustainable footprint.

Sun Alliance House is the first of a number of buildings that Jomast will be investing in over the coming months on Albert Road.  At 50,000 square feet, it’s the biggest building on the street and a glimpse of the company’s ambitions for the area.

Current Sun Alliance House tenants Working Links, Hays Recruitment and the Royal Bank of Scotland have all committed to the project by extending their lease agreements and Working Links, who offer employment, skill and rehabilitation services, have taken additional space within the building.

The revamp has also led to the apprenticeship provider Aspire Achieve Advance Limited being attracted to the building and taking a 3,500 square feet suite.

Di McEvoy-Robinson, Co-owner of 3aaa (Aspire Achieve Advance Limited) said: “As an Ofsted ‘Grade 1’ Outstanding Apprenticeship Provider, it is vital to us that all of our academies are in a positive and productive environment and boast state of the art facilities. Our aim is to offer life changing opportunities to young people in the area and to give them the best possible surroundings to excel within their Apprenticeships. The Sun Alliance House building allows us to offer the young people a vibrant technology hub in which they can advance their skills.

“It is clear from visiting the location, that it is an excellent environment for both our young people and our own staff to prosper within. We certainly think Sun Alliance House looks the part and now we have bespoke office space, which was fitted out within 4 weeks by Jomast, I can’t think of a better place for us to be based.”

Mark Hill, Commercial Property Director at Jomast, said: “This is the first of many exciting projects we will be been working on along Albert Road. Our aim is to transform this area back into a central business district within Middlesbrough.  Anyone interested in seeing the high-quality of the office space should come and have a look.”
