North East civil and structural engineers RWO is investing further in developing its services and national capabilities with two new appointments.

John Haruna comes in as a graduate structural engineer, bringing experience of working across a variety of residential and commercial projects, structural design, project coordination and engineering analysis, to the role.

He is joined at the firm’s Seaton Burn head office by new apprentice structural technician Daniel Hogg, who will assist in the design, analysis, and documentation of building structures and support the senior management team.

Currently employing a 40-strong workforce and led by an experienced team of directors, the appointments come on the back of increasing demand for RWO’s services from commercial and residential developers and housebuilders, who are ramping up their own investment and regeneration plans.

The company is eyeing turnover of £4m in FY2026 across its Newcastle, Leeds, Stokesley and London office with a plethora of projects. These include a package of civil, structural and geo environmental engineering services for various data centre projects together with education and police training facilities, which among the highlights of the last 12 months.

Managing director Ross Oakley said the firm will continue to recruit skilled people to support expansion across its North East and Yorkshire operations and provide clients with the highest levels of service.
