ONE of the North East’s biggest tribute music festivals is returning to the historic grounds of Gisborough Priory this weekend.
Now in its fourth year, Summer Sound will feature 10 acts performing over two nights on Friday 29 July and Saturday 30 July.
A 1970s and 1980s theme kicks off the weekend with Blondied, a tribute to Blondie, a George Michael/Wham! tribute performed by Wayne Dilks, Culture Club tribute Boy Georgeous and Abba Sensation.
Band Big Si and the Yawns will warm the crowd up and the night will be hosted by Bernie Inns of Love Train fame.
On Saturday, the focus switches to rock and pop with U2 Elevation, Bon Jovi Forever UK, UB40 tribute Homegrown and completing the line-up are The Clone Roses.
Cllr Carl Quartermain, cabinet member for jobs, skills and leisure, said: “Last year’s sell-out event brought thousands of people into Guisborough which sees the historic Priory site transformed into an arena with the ancient building used as backdrop for the main stage.
“I would encourage as many people to come along to this fantastic event, and spend the weekend partying away to some live music and classic songs.”
A BBQ and food village, as well as licensed bars, stalls and street entertainment will be at the event.
The event is for over 16s only, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
