Overnight road resurfacing work is to be carried out at Sedgefield.
Durham County Council is to resurface a section of the A689 eastbound carriageway, with work to begin today (Thursday 21 July) and expected to be complete by Saturday 30 July.
Work will take place between 7pm and 6am, with the eastbound carriageway closed between its A177 Hardwick Park and Stockton Road roundabouts between these times.
Signposted diversion routes will be in place through Sedgefield from 21 July to 24 July.
From July 25 to the completion of works, a contraflow system will be in place on the A689 westbound carriageway.
John Reed, the council’s head of technical services, said: “This work is part of our maintenance programme to resurface the road network across the county, for the benefit of all users.
“We are carrying out the work at night to minimise disruption and we thank motorists in advance for their patience while it is carried out.”
