Pools Back Help Alfie Walk Campaign

The nine-year- old and his family were our guests for the game as they continue the fund-raising to allow him to undergo a life-changing operation.

Alfie, who has Cerebral Palsy, has started a campaign to raise the £50,000 needed to fund surgery which could see him walk unaided for the first time.

He was in fine spirits at the weekend as he met Chairman Gary Coxall, Nathan Thomas, Brian Honour and Nathan Thomas in the Executive Boxes.

He then heading pitchside where he was presented with a signed shirt by several players before being given a rapturous round of applause from supporters.

“Alfie is an amazing young lad with a fantastic family and we wish him every success with the campaign,” said Operations Director Mark Burrows.

“We were delighted to have them as our guests at the weekend and I am pretty sure he had a good time – even though the result wasn’t what we were all hoping for.

“He’s well on his way to achieving the target of £50,000 but needs everyone’s help so if there’s any way our fans can support him then that would be brilliant.”

On Monday morning, the Help Alfie Walk campaign announced that they have now raised £6,850 towards the cost of the operation.
