Renowned Paralympian among keynote speakers at upcoming Entrepreneurs’ Forum conference

Mark Inglis, the first double amputee to stand on the summit of Mount Everest, will join inspirational entrepreneurs visiting the North East, as the Entrepreneurs’ Forum hosts its Global Entrepreneurship Week conference.

‘Fortune Favours the Brave’ will see 200 North East entrepreneurs gather at Wynyard Hall on Thursday 8thNovember for the event, which is being hosted by BBC journalist and presenter Charlie Charlton.

Mark will draw on his experiences as a Paralympic medallist, as well as his business career as a world-recognised winemaker, business innovator, trekking guide and international motivator.

Bob Keiller CBE, chairman of Scottish Enterprise, will also provide a valuable insight into the importance of business culture and entrepreneurship, with significant industry experience including completing the management buyout of PSN from Halliburton in 2006 and scaling Wood Group’s operations in more than 50 countries.

Additional speakers include Chris Hulatt, co-founder of Octopus Group and EY’s 2017 UK Entrepreneur of the Year, and Tamara Roberts, the CEO of family business Ridgeview, which produces nearly 300,000 bottles of English sparkling wine each year and exports to 12 countries across the globe.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen will speak about his ongoing work to build a strong local economy that provides high quality jobs in the region and to also create a multi-million-pound Access to Finance Fund to provide capital investment for small and medium-sized businesses.

Graham Robb, senior partner at Recognition PR, will also host a panel of North East entrepreneurs, who will share their experience of scaling-up their business while using different funding strategies.
