Residents given advice on finding work at free course

CaptureLocal job seekers will be given advice on finding work at two upcoming free courses.

County Durham Housing Group is holding two workshops, to help residents focus on how and where to look for work, which will take place on:

  • Thursday, 11 February, from 10am to 12.30pm at Kasko House in Blackhall
  • Wednesday, 17 February, from 10am to 12.30pm at Murton Housing Partnership.

Claire Maddison, Employment and Skills Officer at County Durham Housing Group, said: “Our free informal workshops provide attendees with advice and support about where to find jobs and how to apply for them.

“We can provide guidance to people, whether they’re looking for a new job or a change of career, particularly if they’re unsure of how to get into a particular field of work.

“Anyone who wants to claim their free place at one of our workshops should call us on 0191 349 7657 or email employability@cdhg.co.uk

County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Team provides support to tenants of Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes to find a job, access training, gain apprenticeships and venture into self-employment.

Help to attend the courses, such as travel expenses, can be arranged.
