A specialist digital photographer is taking business’s websites to the next level with 360° HDR virtual tours and panoramic photography that showcases their offers in high definition detail.
Robert Wood, from Seahouses in Northumberland, started Northern 360 to bring the new style of imaging to websites for clients from the construction industry to pubs, restaurants and hotels.
He said: “The 360° images and panoramic views create a virtual tour for visitors to the website, allowing them to virtually ‘be there’ and see what a business offers for themselves – whether that’s its services, accessibility or just have a good look around.
“It’s a particularly powerful selling tool for businesses such as hotels, because it allows people to look around the rooms they are considering booking and get a real feel for the place.”
The former Newcastle College photography lecturer, who has more than a decade’s experience as a professional photographer, has worked with a number of businesses in the tourism sector to ramp up their websites. He provides the bespoke service across the North East and the Scottish Borders.
Robert meets with businesses to find out their key selling points and what parts of the enterprise they want to showcase to customers, then uses his specialist equipment to create a bespoke tour for their website. People visiting the website are then able to click on the pictures and see, for example, a bar or hotel bedroom in 360° vision.
The system is set up so the virtual tours work on all types of devices from laptops and tablets to smartphones. Northern 360 can also upload and host the tours on behalf of its customers.
Robert said: “This takes a website to the next level and makes it work harder and smarter as a selling tool for the business.
“There is nothing like being there in person, but this really is the next best thing. I’m handling a lot of enquiries from businesses in the tourism sector, who are looking to beef up their websites ahead of the new season. By adding 360° virtual tours and panoramic views, it helps them to get ahead of the competition.”
Claire Thorburn, owner of Impact PR & Marketing said: “I was so impressed by Robert’s product I have gone on to use him for several of my clients’ businesses as well as my own holiday cottage. Embedding virtual tours gives an extra dimension to a website, allowing you to show off your business and its assets to web visitors, boosting web visitor retention, sales and bookings. Online video content and high impact visuals are a must for any savvy business and Rob’s product is a must in achieving this. The fact I have been able to support a fellow local business makes for a win-win situation!”
