Unwritten, one of the North East’s fastest growing design companies, has won a contract to promote the region to Scandinavian tourists, following the success of a groundbreaking campaign in New York.
The Newcastle business, which was only formed in 2014, has already delivered a campaign on behalf of the NewcastleGateshead Initiative – NGI to promote the North East to capitalise upon United Airlines’ 2015 flights from Newcastle to New York.
This included a feature in the New York Times, showcasing the beauty of the region and United have already announced that they will reopen the route in 2016.
Now, Unwritten has secured a further contract for Visit England, through NGI, to promote the North East to prospective visitors from Scandinavian countries, including Sweden and Norway.
Unwritten was founded by Amy Jackson and Lisa Eaton, who have a combined experience in the creative industry of more than 25 years, driving campaigns for a wide range of businesses through agencies in the region.
The business specialises in the creation of design, with a focus on beautiful execution and delivering commercial returns.
Amy said: “A stateside advertising campaign within a year of forming Unwritten was amazing, but as a North East business it was made even more rewarding by the fact that it was promoting our region to such a fantastic city.
“Winning this new campaign brief, to showcase the North East to Scandinavian tourists, is a great way to build on that and delivering this project in 2016 is something that our whole team is excited about.”
Lisa added: “There are already air and sea links between the North East and Scandinavia, so the idea is to not only support those, but to stimulate interest in any potential future routes that may open.
“We have built a team of creative people who thrive on inspiring and influencing our clients’ existing and future audiences, so to be building a reputation for being able to deliver this to foreign markets is hugely rewarding.”
