The blasts, booms and explosions of Bonfire Night can often serve up decibel ratings the equivalent of a jet plane taking off. This won’t be a problem at Kirkley Hall in Northumberland this November, where the monkeys at the site’s Zoological Gardens won’t have to put their fingers in their ears as the attraction hosts its very first “quiet bonfire and fireworks display”.

This quirky concept has been dreamt up to not only protect the eardrums of the zoo animals but also children and adults who hate the rocketing loud bangs! The spectacular ‘quiet’ fireworks will light up the picturesque 17th-century historic building which is set to a beautiful backdrop of rural Northumberland. The bonfire bonanza will take place on Sunday November 4th between 2.30pm and 6pm.

Tickets are quite literally flying out of the door so people need to move fast to snap up the last remaining ones.

Visitors can make an afternoon of the extravaganza which has a variety of exciting supporting activities including fun fair rides, face painting, food and craft stalls and a disco on the lawn. The quiet fireworks display is being brought to life by Reaction Fireworks.

Keir Waugh, Events and Operations Manager at Kirkley Hall and Zoological Gardens, said: “We always try and come up with something extra special at Kirkley Hall and our quiet bonfire and firework display promises to hit new heights! Visitors will be able to soak up the atmosphere and not shudder at the shrieking noise.”

Bonfire Night is setting out the stall for a forthcoming showcase of events at Kirkley Hall that will rocket into people’s plans for autumn and winter!

Tickets for the Quiet Bonfire and Firework Display are priced at £4, with under 5’s being £1 and a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children over 5 years) being £14 (advanced bookings only). To book people need to visit www.kirkleyhallzoo.co.uk/bonfire-night

If young people and adults can’t wait until 4th November to experience some fun at Kirkley Hall and Zoological Gardens then why not come along to “Boo in the Zoo” on Wednesday 31st October from 5-7pm which is Kirkley’s spooky Halloween offering. The fun filled night of spooky activities includes ghoulish games, creepy animal encounters involving giant spiders, slithering snakes and gruesome insects. There is even a torchlight tour of the zoo to see what the animals get up to after dark. [SCREAM!!!]

Boo in the Zoo is priced at £7.95 per person with the minimum age being 7 years old.

Be part of something extra special this autumn and winter season by coming along to Kirkley Hall and Zoological Gardens.
