ST JAMES’ SQUARE KARTING EVENT RAISES MONEY FOR MACMILLAN

St James’ Square Law Firm recently hosted their first Charity Karting and Client Networking Event at Karting North East. The event brought together clients and staff for an action-packed afternoon of endurance racing whilst raising money for the firm’s charity of the year, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The afternoon started with welcome words from Paul Monaghan, the firm’s Managing Partner, followed by David from Macmillan who shared his story about volunteering for the charity. The qualifiers then commenced with 28 teams karting in total before Richard Aitken from AngloScottish and Matt Holbrook won the all-important race, taking away with them the St James’ Square 1st place trophy. A BBQ was also served throughout the event, giving guests the opportunity to network.

Monies raised from the event will go towards the firm’s overall target of £5000 which they are hoping to raise by the end of the year.

Paul Monaghan said, “We’re absolutely thrilled that our guests could join us today and we’re thankful for their support. It’s been a fantastic fun-filled afternoon and to raise money for Macmillan at the same time has been a win-win.

“Macmillan is a charity close to all of our hearts at St James’ Square. I’m grateful to Macmillan for the care and kindness they gave to my Auntie, Rita Monaghan who died from cancer when she was only 30.

“All donations received today and throughout all of our fundraising will be matched by the firm, meaning that we will be raising a grand total of £10000 by the end of the year.”
