North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

logo-landscapeBUDDING entrepreneurs are being invited to take part in an introductory course that will help aspiring business leaders get off the ground.

The Stockton Start Up Programme is completely free of charge and available to all Stockton Borough residents aged 16 to 25. A specific business idea is not required but a passion for business and the drive to become your own boss is essential.

Participants will benefit from learning about every aspect of business including generating ideas, marketing, bookkeeping and start-up business opportunities within Stockton Borough.

The week-long programme will run from Monday 8 August to Friday 12 August, between 10am and 4pm – with a special ‘Learn ‘n’ Lunch’ provided each day.

Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for any of the Borough’s teenagers or young adults with a head for business to learn more about how they can make their ambition a reality.

“I would encourage anyone between the ages of 16 to 25 who thinks that their future may lie in the business sector to register for a place and benefit from the support on offer as they make their way in the world.”

The course will also end with a unique ‘Make Your Pitch’ exercise where participants will be given the chance to pitch their business idea to a panel of local business leaders in the hope of winning a ‘Business Start-Up Prize Pot’.
