Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Step into Christmas at the Bridges

SUNDERLAND’S leading shopping centre is gearing up for the busiest time of the year, with the gift of extended opening hours.

The Bridges is preparing for an influx of Christmas shoppers with their twice-checked lists who are preparing for the festive season.

And to make shopping easier the centre has unveiled extended opening hours and free parking.

From 11 – 22 December, the Bridges will be open until 8pm Monday to Friday, with free parking after 5.30pm until 9pm in both the Debenhams and roof top car parks.

December will also see the return of the popular Santa’s Grotto, where the man in red himself will be making a list of what children want for Christmas and checking their place on the nice list.

Samantha Czwordon-Wright, marketing manager at the Bridges, is delighted to welcome Santa back to Sunderland.

“The whole shopping centre gets into the festive spirit in December and after a successful year with the arrival of new retailers like Toys ‘R’ Us, we know there’s more on offer than ever before,” she said.

“We know the build up to Christmas is a hectic time for everyone so we hope that offering late night shopping and free parking in December will give our customers extra time to make the most of our fantastic retailers.”

Santa’s Grotto opens on 16 November with a £2 entry fee which will go to support good causes through Sunderland’s SR1 Rotary Group.
