In preparation for lockdown easing, local IT company, Pentagon Computer Solutions Ltd have worked with North East based businesses Gosforth Church of St Nicholas and Newcastle Castle. Gosforth Church and Newcastle Castle were keen to reach their clients through the power of technology, such as newly installed Wi-Fi and contactless solutions. Pentagon Computer Solutions Ltd came to the rescue and helped Gosforth Church diversify and carry out weddings via Zoom through installing a Wi-Fi connection. At Newcastle Castle, a favourite city centre tourist destination they improved their current internet connection to allow staff to use tablets and take contactless payments.

Due to the lockdown restrictions that were in place Gosforth Church were unable to carry out their regular services. With the help of Pentagon Computer Solutions Ltd, a stable Wi-Fi connection allowed parishioners to attend virtual services as well as the first wedding post lockdown where 24 guests were able to attend and hundreds of their friends and family watched via Zoom. As restrictions were eased Newcastle Castle required a new innovative way to ensure the safety of both staff and customers. Pentagon Computer Solutions Ltd made improvements to the existing Wi-Fi which allowed staff to manage contactless purchasing of tickets at the door for walk-up customers.
Jane Nattrass, Gosforth Parish Church Reverend said: “To continue to run church services we had to innovate and find new ways of keeping the congregation together. Pentagon Computer Solutions installed access points and implemented secure guest Wi-Fi.” This was followed on by Ben Smith, Chief Executive Officer at Newcastle Castle who stated: “During lockdown our team, management committee and board of trustees were all able to keep in touch and to hold the relevant meetings due to the solutions that Pentagon advised on.”
