Preston Park Museum is hosting its annual celebration of traditional crafts, ParkMade Live on Sunday 5 July.
Traditional skills and forgotten activities will be brought back to life in front of visitors’ eyes thanks to skilled crafters who will create a range of beautiful products from patchwork quilts to hand carved wooden items and ironmongery.
Those inspired by what they see on the day can sign up to one of Preston Park’s regular ParkMade traditional taster days. These offer budding craftspeople the chance to try blacksmithing, wood carving, stained glass or proggy rag rug making.
Throughout the day there will also be a free drop-in family pottery activity with a local artist making pinch and coil pots.
ParkMade Live takes place from 10am until 4pm and is a free event with normal museum admission.
Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “Join us for our fifth annual celebration of traditional crafts and the skilful people that keep them alive. Visit the bustling Victorian Street full of tradespeople showcasing their skills or get messy with the pottery activity. The products made through the day will also be available to pick up from the museum’s gift shop.”
