North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Teesside-based Tilly Bailey & Irvine Law Firm has promoted two of its staff members, as the North East legal specialists continue its growth and development plans for 2019.

Andrew Beattie has been promoted to Partner, while Wendy Beacom becomes Head of our Private Family Law department.

Andrew, who is originally from a Durham farming family, worked in the City for a number of years at one of the country’s largest commercial property firms before joining Tilly Bailey & Irvine.

He specialises in commercial property work and also has a firm grasp of agricultural matters. His background puts him in the perfect position to deal with the interface between agricultural and commercial property matters.

Andrew has been involved in a number of large commercial developments both locally and nationally whilst at Tilly Bailey & Irvine.

Andrew, who joined Tilly Bailey & Irvine in 2010, commented: “Tilly Bailey & Irvine is a great firm to work at with a fantastic local and national client base. I look forward to continuing to develop and expand our commercial property and agricultural property departments.”

Wendy Beacom meanwhile progresses to Head of Private Family Law from TBI’s Wynyard office. Having practised in family law for over 25 years, Wendy has significant expertise in the resolution of financial matters arising from divorce – which are often complex – and regularly assists clients with business interests involving companies or land.

The service caters for high net worth individuals, assisting clients on pre-nuptial agreements and dealing with disputes regarding child arrangements, such as the relocation of children within the UK and overseas.

Wendy commented: “This is a really exciting opportunity for me to build upon the strength of the team with a view to expanding our expertise across the Tees Valley, Newcastle and Yorkshire regions, as members of the team are very well placed to assist clients in those areas and beyond. I am absolutely committed to ensuring my team will continue to provide an exceptional service and with TBI being a full service firm, this means I can ensure clients will receive the best possible bespoke advice for their specific needs.”

Carolyn Tilly, Managing Partner, commented: “I am delighted to announce Andrew Beattie’s promotion to Partner, and Wendy Beacom’s promotion to TBI’s new Head of Private Family. Our experienced team has developed a thriving Private Family department and, going forward, the department will focus on developing new business and growth. It is an exciting time for the firm, and I’m sure that its predecessors would be proud of where we are right now, as the largest full service legal practice in Teesside.”

The full-service firm, which has been in existence since 1842, has offices in Hartlepool, Barnard Castle, Stockton-on-Tees and Wynyard. It will also celebrate surpassing 10 years of service to esteemed clients from its commercially-focused Wynyard Park premises.
