3-5 Stanhope ParadePattinson Auction’s latest event, held at Kingston Park on Tuesday evening, has been a great success as always. The company, an offshoot of Keith Pattinson Estate Agent, has been auctioning homes and commercial properties for more than 20 years.

Buying properties at auction is becoming more popular, as it offers people a choice of properties at a good price. There is often no chain and the houses are ready to move into, making the process much quicker and easier.

The latest auction yet again saw plenty of sales; here are the top five fantastic properties, all of which went for great prices:

Victoria Apartments, Middlesbrough, sold for £416,000: This lot was the freehold of purpose-built three storey retirement apartments, 26 with long leasehold 13 without any leasehold. 18 of the apartments are one-bed units and 21 are two-bed units, an amazing opportunity for the lucky investor.

The property also has a guest bedroom, communal lounge and gardens and ample parking facilities. The grounds and building are managed professionally, with 24-hour emergency care also available. As Victoria Apartments is close to the town centre, amenities and the hospital and easily accessed by road, it should continue to do well under its new owner.

Three-bed semi-detached in Westbourne Avenue, Gosforth, winning bid £167,500: An excellent purchase, as this property is on the much sought-after Grange Park Estate, and ideally placed, as it’s easily accessible by road, close to the metro, bus, local shops and schools.

An end house, it has a large driveway to the front and a garden to the rear. The large lounge boasts a bay window and there is a separate downstairs toilet as well as the upstairs bathroom. There are three bedrooms, a utility room plumbed for a washing machine and a modern kitchen, providing lots of scope for the buyer.

Three of the four bedrooms are also a good size, meaning it could become a comfortable family home.

The property is conveniently located, as it’s close to local amenities and with good transport links, as well as being close to the city centre.

Two-bed terrace in Chester Square, Morpeth, sold for £35,000: An excellent property and bought at a great price. It boasts a south facing garden to the front and a car-port and yard to the rear. There is double-glazing throughout.

The local community will be looking forward to what will be opening in the near future.
