REDCAR & Cleveland Borough Council is encouraging the public to give their opinions on plans for a new seafront shelter in Saltburn.
The council has had five varying designs produced to help residents and visitors think about what style of shelter they would prefer.
This comes as part of the Boroughwide Public Realm Programme, which was approved by Cabinet in 2014, aiming to improve and maintain public spaces across the borough.
The project is to replace the seafront shelter previously located on Saltburn Lower Promenade, which was damaged beyond repair in the storms of December 2013 and was subsequently removed.
The five designs will be displayed in Saltburn Library until Saturday, February 6th 2016. Consultation sheets will be available for the public to give their opinions and thoughts to help shape the final design of the new shelter.
It is hoped the new shelter will be in place for the summer of 2016.
Cllr Dale Quigley, cabinet member for economic growth at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council said:
“This is a great opportunity for our residents and visitors to give their feedback on the shelter designs, which are all different and interesting choices.
“We value the views of local people and we encourage as many as possible to let us know which one they would like to see on Saltburn’s beautiful seafront.”
Saltburn Library is located on Windsor Road, Saltburn by the Sea, TS12 1AT and is open seven days a week. The library is closed Sunday and Tuesday mornings.
