Much has been reported about the North East of England – particularly when it comes to business success and employment. In 2018, the North East has seen itself at the top of the national table when it comes to individual insolvencies and closures.
Findings by the trade body, R3, reported that over 23% of businesses within the region have experienced a crippling hit to their finances after a customer, supplier or client faced debt issues and even insolvency procedures. However, all is not lost for the North East…
Bluespark Automotive, leading suppliers for car tuning boxes and specialists in tuning engine management systems, are one of the many companies hoping to put investment back into the area. Bluespark Automotive not only sell the tuning boxes for vehicles, but manufacture and develop all software in house.
The business has continued to operate within the North East since they opened, fighting off the perks for shipping overseas but to invest more in the region. The choice to stay based within the area has proved wholly successful for the company. In 2017, they noted a staggering 379% increase in demand for petrol tuning boxes. Similarly, they also recorded a rise of 6% in the total number of people purchasing diesel tuning boxes.

In a year where UK manufacturing output has recorded the largest monthly fall in output for five years, falling by 1.4% – this is a great sign for the future. This news also comes in the wake of the Invest in the North East campaign – supported by some of the region’s top companies and public organisations – aims to celebrate and improve the economy.

As more companies look to celebrate the area, we can only imagine Bluespark are just one of the many hoping to set up camp in the region for years to come.
