ONE of the North East’s most prestigious venues is celebrating Christmas in glittering style.
Wynyard Hall Hotel, Tees Valley, has unveiled a programme of festive dinners, carol concerts, afternoon teas and balls throughout December, along with a series of Ice Vegas party nights.
On 11, 12, 18 and 19 December, the Grand Marquee, in the hotel’s grounds, overlooking the recently opened Walled Garden, will be transformed into an ‘ice’ palace.
Guests will be welcomed with a drink before enjoying a three course meal, cooked on-site by the hotel’s chefs.
There will then be dancing to a live band and disco and the chance to have a spin on the roulette wheel.
For those looking to dine, rather than dance, in the run up to Christmas, the hotel is serving festive afternoon teas and evening meals from the end of November, along with special Christmas and Boxing Day menus.
And, following the success of last year’s Christmas Eve carol concert in Wynyard Hall’s Brooks Chapel – built for the hotel’s former owners, the Marquises of Londonderry – additional dates have been added.
Visitors can now enjoy Carols in the Chapel, followed by mince pies and mulled wine in the Statue Gallery, on Sun 6 and 13 December, between 4pm and 6pm and on Tuesday 22 and Thursday 24 December, from 7pm to 9pm.
The Ice Vegas Christmas Party Nights start at 7pm until 1.30am and tickets cost £45.
Those wishing to extend the evening, can add an overnight stay at a special rate of £150 per room, based on double occupancy, with full English and continental breakfast.
Tickets for Carols in the Chapel cost £10 for adults and £5 for those aged 13 and under. Children aged under five can attend free of charge.
