An Ouseburn-based café, housed within the UK’s largest independent art, craft and design gallery, is opening its doors after hours for a new event that dishes up Mediterranean-inspired food and local beers.
The Factory Kitchen, located within The Biscuit Factory, hosts its first After Hours Social on Friday 2nd March, 6pm-9pm.
The new event is a chance to soak up the café’s laid-back atmosphere after hours while enjoying a selection of dishes inspired by Mediterranean street food, including delicious stuffed Porchetta, Arancini and slow roasted lamb, starting from just £6.
There will also be a pop-up bar on the night with beers from Newcastle-based Almasty Brewing Co, amongst others.
The After Hours Social runs alongside the official launch event for The Biscuit Factory’s new spring exhibition, which means diners coming along to the cafe will also be among the first to see the gallery’s new contemporary art collections.
Café Manager, Harriet Edgar said: “We wanted to create an event that reflects who we are as a café, and share with our guests the food we love to cook and more importantly, the food we love to eat! Plus, we’ll be pouring beer from one of our favourite local breweries, Almasty Brewing Co. With our combination of great food and great beer on the night – what’s not to love?”
Open seven days a week, the café serves all-day brunch, vibrant seasonal salads and hearty sandwiches alongside coffee and homemade cake.
