Construction is nearing completion at a new housing development in Heighington, where the final home has now been reserved.
Bellway has provided 75 homes at Meadow Rise, off Walworth Road, including 60 three and four-bedroom properties for private sale and 15 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.
The development has also brought significant funding to the area, with Bellway investing more than £220,000 in local education, more than £78,000 towards walking and cycle routes, and £15,000 for new car parking spaces in the village. There has also been funding for improving sports facilities and bus stops.
Construction on site is scheduled to come to an end in January, when residents are due to move into the final homes.
Oliver Wray, Sales Manager for Bellway Durham, said: “Meadow Rise has been an extremely popular development with homebuyers, so it was only a matter of time before the final property was reserved.
“We’ve provided a good mix of homes here that have catered for people at different stages of life and we’ve met the needs of local buyers as well as those moving into the area.
“Customers have been particularly impressed by the quality of the homes constructed here, overseen by our award-winning site manager, Daniel Ferguson, who picked up a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council earlier this year.
“Although all the homes at Meadow Rise are now sold, we continue to provide new homes elsewhere in County Durham, with a range of properties available at our Hurworth Gardens development in Hurworth, just 10 miles from Heighington, situated to the south of Darlington but still within close proximity to the amenities on offer. There’s also a new collection of homes coming soon at Killinghall Grange in Middleton St George.”
