- The full PEUGEOT passenger car range meets the new WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure) protocol due to investment ahead of time in innovative engine technologies
- All passenger cars sold in the European Union must meet new emissions regulations which comply with the WLTP protocol, mandatory from 1 September 2018
- The PEUGEOT range comes with the most efficient pollution control technologies, including the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and the Petrol Particulate Filter
The new WLTP protocol (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure) will become mandatory on 1 September 2018 for all passenger cars sold in the European Union.
The entire PEUGEOT passenger car range has been found to be compliant with the new WLTP emissions testing procedure that comes into force on 1 September.
Due to the technologies available on the PureTech and BlueHDi engines launched in September 2017, PEUGEOT vehicles are already in compliance with the NOx, CO2 and particulate matter thresholds of the new regulation.
PEUGEOT decided to invest ahead of time in the most efficient pollution control technologies, including the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, introduced back in 2013 on BlueHDi engines, and the Petrol Particulate Filter on PureTech direct-injection petrol engines.
The WLTP test is based on realistic vehicle driving cycles resembling as closely as possible real conditions of use in terms of distance, average speed, stopping times and temperature.
These tests produce certified fuel-consumption and emissions figures that are more representative of customer usage and the exact configuration of the vehicle. In addition, test-bench results for CO2, NOx and particulate emissions are verified in real conditions on the road.
PEUGEOT also continues to offer motorists an estimate of the real world fuel consumption of its models consistent with a protocol developed with two NGOs, Transport & Environment and France Nature Environment, and results certified by Bureau Veritas.
