A group of landlords is asking around 18,500 tenants and housing applicants for their views on how homes are let.
Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes, which together form County Durham Housing Group, are part of Durham Key Options (DKO), a lettings partnership that advertises homes to rent across the county.
The scheme, which was introduced in 2009 to offer people looking for a new home a range of housing solutions, is proposing a number of amendments in light of changes within government legislation and people’s differing housing needs.
Kath Wright from Dale & Valley Homes is encouraging people to take part. She said: “If you are currently looking for a home with one of the group’s landlords, this is a fantastic opportunity to tell us how applications should be dealt with and prioritised.”
Joanne Rouse from Durham City Home agrees: “Kath’s right; and with questions on waiting times, transferring to a new home, and housing priority this is a great way to tell us what you think.”
Stephen Lindsey from East Durham Homes concluded: “You have until 5pmon Friday, 12 August to take part, so don’t miss out.”
