An extensive refurbishment programme has seen a Grade II listed building in Wallsend converted into a brand new conference and business centre.
Until recently the flagship Town Hall building was occupied by council workers but now it has been turned into flexible office space that could cater for up to 50 small businesses. It also has modern conference facilities that could house up to 200 people at a time.
North East chartered surveying firm Bradley Hall has now been appointed to promote the scheme to prospective commercial tenants.
Occupants will benefit from on-site parking and access to excellent public transport facilities, with the business centre located within easy reach of the A19, the Tyne & Wear Metro system and Newcastle city centre.
Richard Rafique, associate director at Bradley Hall, said: “The refurbished Town Hall offers some of the most prestigious serviced office space in North Tyneside. The developers have retained many regal and grandiose features of the building while installing modern facilities that are essential to a twenty first century business.
“All of the offices have been beautifully restored and come equipped with state-of the-art fibre optic broadband and telephony systems.”
Initial interest in the scheme has been strong and Executype, an administration and call answering service specialist, is among the first batch of companies to take occupancy in the building. The company will provide administration support to businesses at the centre.
In total there are 13 two-person offices; 15 three-person offices; eight four-person offices; three five-person offices and four six-person offices. Prices start from £350 per month for a two-person office and include rents, business rates, gas, water and electricity, broadband and a range of other office support services.
